Here are the top 5 questions asked by my legions of fans this week:
What percentage of trades do you do among FX / Futs / Stocks?
I would say so far, it is 60 / 30 / 10. It used to be 30 / 20 / 50 earlier in the year.
Where do you find the time to trade?
Uhmmm.... I am a full time trader. I got no job but trading. So yeah, pretty much 24 hours if I want to.
Who is your broker?
TD Ameritrade - ThinkorSwim platform. I don't like the broker. They have crap customer service. But I love the platform so there.
How do you monkey hammer the VIX?
I think you need to take our CLASSES to learn that. I don't give knowledge for free. I don't work for PBS.
Do you ever lose money?
Of course I do. If you ever read my tweets, I do post my losses there too. I am not some super, mega perfect 17-year old hedge fund manager that never loses. Real traders lose real money. If the trader you follow on twitter or on their blogs state they don't lose money, stop following them.
A lot of people look up to others that seem to be doing well. But always remember that you have to put in the work to be at a level of profitability in this market. Right from the get-go you're already at a disadvantage by leaps and bounds. You are going against banks, funds and other firms that have legions of analysts and traders that have more advanced training than you. How you beat them is a matter of wit and skill. You don't have to be a finance major or MBA to be a good trader. But you have to have your wits about you.
Traders from Equity Sense will be writing on this blog on positions and other market-related things.
